The entrance to Hunts Mills Park is located off of Haver Farm Road. In the fall of 2017 the ground was prepped for planting and in the spring of 2018, the Clinton Conservancy, with the help of its many volunteers, planted butterfly gardens along the trail and at each entrance. A 50-plant Monarch Butterfly Waystation was also planted. See planting plans and plants used for entrance by Soccer Field and entrance by Pond Ridge Court. An existing 1-acre grass field is in the process of being turned into a butterfly meadow with the first 25' x 160' planted.
Long range plans include removing invasive species, planting more gardens around the pond, and planting the trail with more perennials.
You can volunteer to help plant the gardens.
